You can allow users to connect to your anonymous FTP directory without having a password to login.

This may be useful if you have files that you wish to be publicly available for download.

Please note that allowing anonymous users to access any part of your system may be considered a security hole and FastWebHost does not recommend it.

In order to allow Anonymous FTP, log in cPanel and find the [Anonymous FTP] icon from the Files box.

The following section will provide you with three options:

  1. A checkbox to enable anonymous FTP access. Usually you need only this to allow users to download publicly your files from the directory public_ftp;
  2. The second option is to allow anonymous FTP uploads. This one should be left unchecked unless you are fully aware of all the security risks which may follow;
  3. There is also a box for setting a message to be displayed to connected users. This is useful to inform them about your upload / download policies or provide them additional instructions.
